The first Highlight was the Band of Bloggers meeting. I thought that this was and is one of the best ideas that could be suggested and planned out. The idea of connecting the anonymous faces behind our blogs, and giving it a personal aspect to the entries we make is wonderful. I enjoyed the entire event. The panel was good (panel consisting of – Tim Challies, Thabiti Anyabwile, Phil Johnson, and Abraham Piper; led by: Owen Strachan). I thought the questions were good. I had thought through some of them myself and so it was nice to hear their responses. I must say that I enjoyed meeting the panel. I read almost all their blogs on a daily basis so to see them in person was a real pleasure. I was curious to see how their personalities (which are reflected in their blogs) would match my expectations. And some did and others didn’t.
The best of it all was that we were able to get together and pray! I thoroughly enjoyed this, for it further spurred us to be Christ-centered in our blogging. During the meeting I was able to sit next to Stephen Newell and pray with him. I enjoyed getting to know him.
I want to say a special thanks to Tim Brister who organized this event. He planned it and saw it through with very little budget and it was as professional as any event I have been to. We had six different publishing companies who gave us 8 different books, sermon on CD by R.C. Sproul, lunch, a very nice meeting place, and a great agenda for us with a time of questions and prayer with one another! Tim, the Lord has blessed the fruit of your hands, Thank you!

Hey brother! This week was just proof that the Gospel not only transcends distance, but also our SEC affiliations. It’s not every day a Bama fan and a Vol fan can be found in serious prayer for each other!
I’m going to be overhauling my blogroll after we finish moving into our new apartment next week, and I’ll make sure to link you!

Hahaha, Steven you are correct! The Gospel does transcend SEC affilatiations, but at least we’re in the SEC

Okay,
Enough of this SEC togetherness, already. It is just not right. Leave the darkness and come into the light – the light of an orange and blue sky, that is.
Glad you all had a good time at T4G. I wish I could have been there. I am so thankful that the conference audio is available over the internet. I have been encouraged and challenged by what I have heard so far.
